In November 2022, I travelled to Istanbul to find a city brimming with exiles; Iranian women fleeing the Islamic State's crack down following the death of Mahsa Amini, Ukrainians seeking refuge from war, Russians leaving a country whose political agenda had turned into something they could no longer withstand.
The one place all these people could be found was onboard Istanbul's commuter ferries, going about their daily lives in a city divided by water.
I spent two weeks riding Istanbul's ferries, capturing the world afar as seen via the people on the deck.
